LCCI to host Invest Nigeria conference as global interest grows

Onome Amuge

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is set to host its third annual International Business Conference and Expo, a two-day event aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for foreign direct investment.

Dubbed “Invest Nigeria,” the conference will bring together global investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore business opportunities across the country’s key sectors. The event is being organised in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, underscoring a joint public-private effort to attract capital.

The conference, scheduled for August 26 and 27, 2025, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, has grown steadily in scale since its inception. The inaugural edition in 2023 saw participation from 36 countries, a number that rose to 42 in 2024. This year, the LCCI anticipates delegates and exhibitors from at least 49 different countries, reflecting a growing international appetite for engagement with the Nigerian economy.

The agenda for the event is designed to facilitate high-level dialogue and tangible business connections. Key features will include a business forum headlined by the presidency, state governors, diplomats, and leaders from the organised private sector. The forum aims to provide a clear and direct channel for foreign investors to understand the government’s economic policies and investment climate.

In addition to the high-level discussions, the conference will facilitate ten focused Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions covering critical sectors of the Nigerian economy, including Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Fintech, Textile, and Creative Arts. These sessions will allow for targeted networking and the potential for deal-making. Further solidifying the event’s diplomatic and economic objectives, four exclusive Government-to-Government meetings are planned to foster strategic partnerships and bilateral trade agreements.

The expo section will feature exhibitors from the 49 participating countries, creating a dynamic marketplace for networking and showcasing investment opportunities.

The LCCI’s annual event has established itself as a key platform for stakeholders to converge and advance Nigeria’s industrialisation and trade agenda, leveraging the country’s position as one  Africa’s largest economies.
