BUA taps Turkey’s Makina for 2,000 tonnes per day POP plant

BUA Group, one of Africa’s leading industrial conglomerates, has announced a partnership with MMM Erba Makina of Turkey to facilitate the supply of equipment for the construction of a 2,000 tonnes-per-day plaster of paris (gypsum powder) production plant.
In a statement made available to Business A.M, BUA said the production plant will be Nigeria’s largest plaster production facility upon completion in 2022.
Abdul Samad Rabiu, BUA chairman, who spoke at the signing ceremony said the deal marked another milestone in the company’s journey to becoming Africa’s leading manufacturing and infrastructure company.
Rabiu expressed BUA’s confidence in the expertise, quality of equipment and capacity expected to be delivered on schedule. He added that the plant, upon completion, will further deepen its involvement in the entire housing infrastructure value chain in Nigeria and the West African region.
In his remarks, Melih Baran Kilic, chairman of MMM Erba, expressed excitement at the opportunity to work in Nigeria with BUA Group. He noted that the Turkish company intends to bring its wealth of experience in delivering some of the world’s best plaster plants and ensuring the project is completed on schedule.
