Facebook has launched a new business suite to help small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) manage their businesses more easily across all Facebook-owned platforms.
Announcing the launch of the Facebook Business Suite in a blog post, Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s chief operating officer, noted that small businesses have had to depend on Facebook’s free tools to sell in the face of the global COVID-19 pandemic that has reduced the number of customers walking into brick and mortar locations. She said that Facebook is launching the business suite to help small business save time by managing their profiles across Facebook’s services from a single suite.
“Today we’re introducing Facebook Business Suite, a new interface to help businesses save time and stay up to date by managing their pages or profiles across our apps. “It allows them to post to Facebook and Instagram at the
same time, and manage and receive messages, notifications and alerts in one place. They can also easily see what’s working and learn what’s resonating with customers with Facebook and Instagram insights,” Sandberg stated.
Facebook says that although the Business Suite is only available for small businesses for now, their long term plan is to make the suite available for businesses of all sizes who utilise Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp for doing business.
“We’re building Facebook Business Suite for small businesses first, but this is a long-term investment to make this the main interface for businesses of all sizes who use Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp. It is available for small businesses globally starting today and will expand to larger businesses next year,” the blog post read.
