GTCO debunks false allegations against business operations, reaffirms confidence in management

Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) has swiftly and categorically debunked a series of false news reports aimed at undermining its business activities, financial results, and executive management, categorising the claims as entirely unfounded and lacking any factual basis.
Oyinade Adegite, head of group corporate communication at GTCO, in a statement released to Business a.m., urged the bank’s customers, shareholders, and stakeholders to disregard the baseless allegations being circulated against the bank through various media platforms and social media accounts.
The statement called attention to the fact that the false reports were part of a concerted effort to tarnish the bank’s reputation and mislead the public.

“Based on the incessant release of false news reports on GTCO’s business activities,Results and its Management Team, it has become necessary to set the records straight and dispel attempts by certain groups to create a false narrative about the GTCO Brand and its Management,” the company stated.
According to GTCO, the false news articles being propagated through the media were sponsored by certain groups with the intention of discrediting the group’s business activities and executive management.
The banking group stressed that as a responsible corporate citizen and a first class institution,, it had already taken prompt and decisive legal action against the sources of these false reports, and would continue to use all available legal means to defend its reputation and protect itself against any further misinformation campaigns.
GTCO urged its customers, investors, and stakeholders to disregard the false allegations being circulated and continue to have faith in the bank’s operations and leadership.
GTCO further affirmed that all of its executive management team members were continuing in their roles without interruption, and were not under any financial or regulatory scrutiny, as had been alleged in the false reports.
