The Imo State government has extended the deadline for submission of entries in the ongoing Imo Tourism Logo Design Contest to August 31, 2022.
Uche Ohia, the state commissioner for tourism culture and creative arts, said the deadline extension was “to accommodate participation by students of Imo State origin currently on forced holiday in different parts of the country as a result of the ASUU strike”.
The contest, which opened on June 1, 2022, will see three winners walk away with a total of N350,000.
The first prize winner in the contest will cart away N200,000, the second prize winner will go home with N100,000, while the sum of N50,000 will go to the third prize winner. Certificates of participation will also be issued to all participants.
The aim of the contest is “to contribute to massive tourism promotion” of Imo State as the travel destination of choice, the commissioner said at the flag-off of the contest in Owerri, the state capital.
He also said the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts settled for “endless hospitality” as the unique selling point on which to anchor the logo of Imo State tourism as a brand identity.
The commissioner informed that entry details for the Imo Tourism Logo Design Contest can be found at www.imotourism.com.
He enjoined all Imo indigenes with a flair for graphics and designing to use the opportunity the tourism logo design contest offers to write their names in gold while contributing to the promotion of tourism in the state.
