UBA Group expands global footprint with banking operations in France

United Bank for Africa (UBA Group) and the French Government have inked a groundbreaking business cooperation agreement, aimed at facilitating UBA’s complete banking operations in France.
Bola Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, and Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, bore witness as UBA Group Chairman Tony Elumelu and French Finance Minister Antoine Armand signed the historic agreement, setting the stage for deeper economic ties and collaboration between the two countries.
Speaking at the signing ceremony,Elumelu remarked that the partnership reinforces the Group’s commitment to seamless international banking services for its customers, not just across the 11 Francophone African countries it serves, but Africa as a whole; and French and European customers transacting with Africa.

“Expanding into France is a natural progression, with Paris serving as our European Union hub, as we continue to bring Africa and the world together, through innovative financial solutions. Paris will join London, New York and Dubai, as a critical component of our unique global network,” the UBA Group chairman stated.
