Sterling Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Manish Singhal as the non-executive director of the bank.

The full service national commercial bank made the disclosure in a statement addressed to  the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), its shareholders, and the investing public.

The statement, signed by Temitayo Adegoke, its company secretary and  chief legal counsel, was published on the NGX website and it read: “We wish to notify Nigerian Exchange Limited, our esteemed shareholders, and the investing public of the appointment of Manish Singhal as a Non-Executive Director of Sterling Bank Plc (the Bank).

 

According to the statement, it obtained the Central Bank of Nigeria’s approval before Singhal’s official appointment.

 

Prior to his appointment, Singhal had acquired over twenty-six  years of experience in the financial service industry. He is currently the general manager of operations at the International Banking Group (IBG), and State Bank of India (SBI), where he oversees the operations and information systems, human relations and expansion planning, and strategy.  He also oversees the implementation of  Information Technology (IT) related policies and the activities relating to the IT infrastructure of SBI, among other responsibilities.
