Expectation high on NDDC’s mandate as Ebie leads new board

Delta State born Chiedu Ebie is to lead the next phase in the efforts to get the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to truly act out its regional transformation role in the Niger Delta, following his appointment as chairman of a 17-member board and management by President Bola Tinubu.

Ajuri Ngalale, the president’s  special adviser  on media and publicity, said that President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new board and management for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), with Chiedu Ebie as the chairman. 

The new board and management comprises individuals selected to represent different regions of the nine states of NDDC, he said.

Chiedu Ebie, who assumes the role of chairman of the board of directors and management also represents Delta; Samuel Ogbuku, who  takes the position of managing director/CEO is from Bayelsa; and Boma Iyaye, the executive director in charge of finance and administration, is representing Rivers.

Other members, according to Ngelale, are  Victor Antai as executive director, projects, from Akwa-Ibom; Ifedayo Abegunde as executive director for corporate services represents Ondo; and  Dimaro Denyanbofa represents Bayelsa.

Meanwhile, Abasi Nkono and  Monday Igbuya represent Akwa Ibom and Delta States respectively, while Tony Okocha serves as state representative for Rivers,  Patrick Aisowieren represents Edo,   Kyrian Uchegbu stands for Imo; and Otito Atikase, who replaced an earlier appointee, represents Ondo State.

According to the statement, the board also has Dimgba Eruba as the  representative of Abia and Orok Duke, who also replaced an earlier appointee, as state representative of Cross River.

There are also  three zonal representatives, who are Nick Wende for North Central,  Namdas Abdulrazak for North East; and  Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir for North West.

Ngelale said President Tinubu expected the new NDDC board management to usher in a transformative leadership to pave the way for positive change within the organisation.
