Unitrust Insurance fortifies information security system with ISO certification

Unitrust Insurance Company Limited, an insurance underwriting firm in Nigeria, has strengthened its information security system with the receipt of International Standard Organisation (ISO) certification, enhancing its capacity for sustainable growth in the global market.
Digital Jewel Africa, an information security management system (ISMS) consulting and capacity building firm, bestowed the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification on Unitrust Insurance after a thorough assessment of the insurer’s operational processes, personnel, adherence to security policies, and pricing strategies.
Adedayo Arowojolu, managing director/CEO, Unitrust Insurance speaking at the certificate presentation ceremony at the company’s corporate head office in Lagos, noted that the ISO certification underscores the company’s commitment to protecting its customers’ information and setting a benchmark for excellence in the Nigerian insurance industry.
Speaking on the benefit of the certification to the organisation, Arowojolu noted that the certification has added value to the company’s operations, as it involves the entire team of operations, including people and compliance, adding that in the case of crisis or unforeseen events, the certification has validated processes and controls that will ensure the sustainability of the business.
