Nigeria to deploy digital technology for economic rejuvenation

Bosun Tijani the minister of communications, innovation and digital economy, says the current administration will be deploying digital technology for the rejuvenation of the nation ‘economy.
Addressing the 11th National Council on Communications, Innovation And Digital Economy (NCCIDE), in Kano, Tijani said that rejuvenation of the nations economy was a front line item in the Tinubu administratio renewed hope agenda. This was just as he added that enhancing digital technology is among the key factors of enhancing the nations economy.
“As nations strive to remain competitive in the digital era, policy makers are increasingly focusing on creating an enabling environment that encourages investment in technology, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving productivity by leveraging the manifold benefits of digital technologies across various sectors of the economy,” he stated.
Commenting on the theme of the meeting ,’ Leveraging Digital Technology and Innovation to drive Nigeria’s Economic Growth and Development’, he noted that the theme was in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The minister pointed out the administration was aware about core role which digital technology could play in the nation ‘quest for economic development, noting digital technology is one of the enablers of economic growth and development.
He said that globally, digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Block Chain have become veritable tools for fostering innovation, driving economic growth, and enhancing social prosperity.

Tijani hinted that the World Bank underscores the significant role of digital technology investment in growing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of nations , stressing that Nigeria has been making strides in this direction.
In his address earlier,Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Kano State governor,disclosed that his administration was according much priority to the development of digital technology.
” On assumption in office I make sure that the salary payment system was digitize,and this has helped immensely in blocking leakages”
This administration has revived informatics institute which was. established by the kwankwaso’s Administration with the aim of producing qualified people,” he said.
