Optimus Bank debuts with commitment to transform financial services sector

Optimus Bank Limited, a newly launched national commercial bank,has pledged to revolutionise the Nigerian banking experience by delivering innovative, sustainable and scalable solutions to individuals and businesses,while fostering global financial growth in the banking industry.

Oghogho Akpata, chairman, Optimus Bank,expressed the bank’s commitment during  its grand opening and formal launch in Lagos, recently.

According to Akpata, Optimus Bank, with a devoted team and a customer-centric ethos,is guided by a robust vision to lead in the digital era by promoting financial inclusion, supporting sustainable initiatives, and effecting positive change in the communities it serves.

“Together, we shall build a resilient future for Optimus Bank, guided by unwavering integrity and a vision of prosperity that transcends time,” he said.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State governor, while speaking at the event, emphasised the bank’s potential to further drive economic growth and stability in Lagos State.

“Optimus Bank will not only play a crucial role in the banking sector and the established organisations but also in start-ups and SMEs. It is set to lift the people out of poverty,” the governor added.

Sanwo-Olu also commended Optimus Bank for employing cutting-edge technology and innovative practices, which he noted, aligned with the state’s push for technological advancement and financial modernisation.

Ademola Odeyemi,the managing director, Optimus Bank, said the bank’s entry into the Nigerian banking industry marked a new chapter in the financial sector, one that dismantled barriers and creates opportunities for everyone.

Odeyemi also noted that the bank’s impetus lies in delivering exceptional banking solutions and fostering positive change, ensuring that no one is left behind in their pursuit of financial prosperity.

The Optimus Bank MD added that the bank eagerly anticipates empowering its customers to accomplish their aspirations and make a significant impact in their immediate surroundings.

Business A.M gathered that the bank commenced operations on January 16, 2023, shortly after securing a national commercial banking licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria on October 21, 2022.
